The mission of the Interagency Coordinating Board (ICB) for Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) is to promote and maximize the community’s use of schools other public facilities, providing residents and 6,000 community user groups such as childcare providers, sports groups, after-school programs, churches, cultural schools, etc. with easy, affordable access to more than 500 public facilities, including schools, ballfields, libraries and government buildings. The community-school partnership especially ensures the efficient and equitable use of facility resources while fostering a sense of community ownership. To that end, for security reasons and to provide high-level customer service, in 2009 CUPF created “ICBweb” to help ensure that the needs of the users as well as relevant information as to “who, when and how” public facilities are used is effectively and accurately communicated to building staff and administrators. ICBweb is an IT system that provides a “real time” database at the click of a mouse, which succinctly provides up-to-the-minute information about all scheduled use, including past, current and future bookings. With this information readily available, key internal and external staff, (including school and county staff), are able to effectively plan, collaborate and troubleshoot issues.
