The Horizons at Yucaipa Housing Project is a new construction project consisting of 50 senior apartments (49 affordable and 1 management unit). The developer has allowed 10 units one-bedroom for occupancy by MHSA eligible senior clients. The remainder of the 39 units will be affordable to low and very low income individuals and families. The Horizons at Yucaipa Housing Project is a collaborative permanent supportive housing project with Housing Partners I, LLC, Hyder and Company Management Professionals (Hyder), The County of San Bernardino Community Development and Housing (CDH), the County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), and DBH’s Full Service Partnerships (FSP) AgeWise Supportive Services (AWSS) and Phoenix FSP. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was approved by the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors (BOS) for a housing collaboration to implement permanent supportive housing for individuals with serious mental illness who are homeless or at significant risk of becoming homeless. This agreement is an expression of the BOS’ collective interest to plan and create housing that can help end and prevent homelessness for homeless seniors and adults with mental illness and who are who eligible for such housing under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
