The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)/Transitional Assistance: Collaboration for Customer Service and Staff Development program was established in 2017 as a partnership between San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services-Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) and the Transitional Assistance Department (TAD). TAD administers self-sufficiency programs in San Bernardino County. Through this collaboration, TAD employees who are currently Eligibility Workers (EWs) may apply to participate in a job-shadowing program where they learn firsthand what IHSS Social Workers (SWs) do on a daily basis. Consequently, participating EWs improve their understanding of the IHSS program to better serve their customers and learn about social work and career prospects in that field.
