The county clerk posted all past election results, from 1838 to the present, on the Web for anyone to view and search. This increases accessibility and preserves valuable records. A simple text search allows one to locate any archived election or one can browse by date and election type. This not only saves time for the clerk’s employees that would normally have to manually handle requests for information and search old books of records, but provides access to this pertinent historical information to anyone with access to the Internet. These records are now preserved and saved in a digital format; so if the books were somehow damaged or destroyed, the records would still exist.
