About the Program

Category: Human Services (Best in Category)

Year: 2012

Through collaboration with community partners, the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency established Video Interviewing as a means to improve customer service and enhance access to health coverage and food assistance, utilizing innovative technology to increase efficiency and provide timely services to our shared customers. Targeted populations include, but are not limited to, pregnant women, migrant farm workers, clients who are homeless, residents of Battered Women’s Shelters and transitional housing, and rural clients who face transportation barriers such as residents of the Native American Reservations. This program has been a great way to reduce staff and client travel time in a geographically large county.
