A green vendor exhibition was held for county employees and other state and local government employees in the area to promote the use of green products and services. The purpose of the event was to shine a spotlight on existing and potential vendors which specialize in providing recycled and environmentally friendly products and services. A significant effort was made to reach out to local vendors that offer green products and services. With forty-one vendors, there were a variety of products and services on display including office supplies, furniture, janitorial supplies, vehicles, maintenance/facilities products and recycling services. County employees and other local and state government employees in the area were invited with 100 attendees. The event was held at minimal cost to the county due to voluntary sponsorships by vendors. The event was successful in creating awareness of green products and services and 83% of the attendees responding to a survey indicated they would attend this event in the future. The vendors were grateful for the opportunity and 93% of those responding to a survey indicated they would participate again.
