On November 12, 2008, Miami-Dade County’s 11th Judicial Circuit migrated from a 20+ year-old legacy mainframe Family County case management system to Tyler Technologies, Inc Odyssey, an n-tier, browser-based system employing cutting-edge electronic case file management. The Clerk of Courtsand the Administrative Office of the Courts, in partnership, deployed a “Green” solution that further advances online services to citizens via courthouse kiosks, providing concurrent case file document image retrieval by multiple parties; supporting Internet services for registered attorneys; performing real-time Official Records recording; introduced operational workflow efficiencies that resulted in cost and staff savings; reduced customer wait times for services; and reduced remote file storage needs. Of significance, the implementation further encompassed 10 physical locations throughout the county, required electronic interfaces with Miami-Dade Police, the State Attorney, and the State of Florida, and finally, serves over 2,000 users.
