In response to the nationwide increase in workplace violence, employee safety has been made a priority by the Department of Human Resourcesâ (DHR) Risk Management Division. Beginning in 2014, training programs were designed to increase knowledge and awareness regarding threat assessment, workplace violence, and critical incidents in the workplace. The County of San Diego, with external partners, was able to craft all-encompassing trainings designed to educate and inform the approximately 18,000 County employees.
