The Maricopa County Library District offered more than 7,000 programs in 2017, which attracted 131,000+ attendees. Our communications team is comprised of three people who have the responsibility of reaching our 2.9 million annual library visitors as well as many others who are unaware of library services and programs. Promotion for library programs takes on a number of forms, typically: location-targeted email lists, digital displays in libraries, Web site slides, and printed media. In order to produce and distribute attractive promotional materials in a timely fashion, we developed an automated system to create promotional materials: from staff request to physical production of materials, email distribution, and publishing of digital slides. Our streamlined process and software increased efficiency dramatically in the production and distribution of these materials.
