The purpose of the eFile Auto Accept project is to automatically docket electronic filings received by the Clerk of the Superior Court. The eFile Auto Accept project had three phases: 1.Documents created by the Clerkâs Office2.Documents created by the Court3.Documents generated by Judicial Officers. The result is a process that automatically creates docket entries from electronically filed (eFiled) documents that are in the court record, and the Clerkâs Office staff does not have to manually create the docket entries. The programs that are involved with the eFile Auto Accept project are: (a) the OnBase image repository; (b) iCIS (integrated court information system) for case management and docket; and (c) eFile, the mechanism for adding documents to the OnBase repository. The project addressed the fact that docket staff is under-utilized when they are working on simple documents which do not require in-depth evaluation or decision-making by the docket staff person. eFile Auto Accept alleviates the burden of repetitious work, and affords staff the opportunity to focus on more complex docketing. External customers benefit from an overall improvement in timeliness since the number of steps involved in creating the court record are reduced. As clerk and court generated eFilings increase with the growth of electronic documents in general, automated docket methods for simple documents become more viable. Docket staff will be able to concentrate on more complex docketing, allowing them to work in a more efficnet manner.
