The Miami Dade County Office of Neighborhood Compliance has implemented a mobile solution to process neighborhood enforcement violation cases more efficiently. Wireless laptop computers, printers, and antennae were purchased and mounted in 54 County vehicles. Additionally, an e-Ticketing module was developed and implemented; allowing code enforcement officers to research property information, issue enforcement documents, and update related County applications from their vehicles in the field. This solution allows them to generate documents such as Uniform Civil Violation Notices, Courtesy Warning Notices, Decals and Affidavits of Compliance/Non-Compliance and hand them out within minutes instead of having to return to the office to print them. ONC Neighborhood Compliance Officers now have the ability to do most of their work from their vehicles. It is estimated that they are spending 30% more time in providing services to the community and processing cases. There has been at least 40% reduction in errors due to the design of the system which ensures accuracy in the creation and dissemination of enforcement documents.
