Sussex County Division of Social Services is the County’s welfare agency. The Agency is tasked to provide cash and medical assistance programs, homelessness prevention, emergency assistance and child support assistance. The Division of Social Services Dashboard improves the administration of an existing county government program. Previously client cases were managed using hand written case notes, case files, and 53 unrelated Access databases. Each database contained duplicated client demographics. Staff had the arduous, time consuming chore of locating important case data by using several databases as well as locating the case file. The Dashboard provides one stop access to client history, client updates and client reporting. It has eliminated the need for the 53 unrelated databases. Case information is available to staff on their desktops through the touch of a button. The Dashboard also has eliminated the need for a manual registration system, meets the requirements for tracking client reception information and provides reporting information that had been gathered in the past by a hand count.
