The Development Review Division is a performance-based group of professionals consisting of architects, civil engineers, environmental specialists, landscape architects, planners, and surveyors responsible for the review of land development projects in Collier County. This team assures that all infrastructure design complies with the Land Development Code, and that construction meets the approved plans and specification documents. This new division was developed to improve customer service and reduce plan review times for land development in Collier County. Prior to the launch of the program, plan review times averaged 45 days. To address this delay in the development process, the new program created two permit application categories and reduced review times to 5 and 15 business day cycles. Further, the Division integrated a customer service partnership approach, creating full interaction between developers, consultants, and the Development Review Division. The objectives of the new team are integrated into Development Review expectations and performance measures. Evaluation of the program is accomplished through software reporting services, allowing for active management in the evolving development field.
