With many new software platforms coming out each month, counties are constantly having to adapt to new platforms. The analytics package needed to be grafted into the highly automated trade process that resulted in the daily updating of the county’s investment portfolio accounting system. In order for the portfolio analytics to be a viable resource to the investment team, an accurate, reliable and timely population of the portfolio needed to be established. By utilizing the existing accounting software and developing a technology based data extraction process, the Investment Division is now able to perform analytics on current and historical portfolios using primary source information. This has resulted in more powerful, more timely and more frequent analysis of the portfolio and a commensurately more efficient portfolio management process.
