Year: 2015

As part of DeKalb County, Georgia’s observance of NACo’s annual National County Government Month, DeKalb County Television (DCTV Channel 23) launched an innovative new way to inform county stakeholders about ongoing County initiatives. In support of this year’s National County Government Month theme, Counties Moving Forward: Transportation and Infrastructure, DCTV Channel 23 has committed to releasing a fresh video every weekday in the month of April posting these videos on the station’s webpage on the county’s website. As a means to offer county stakeholders a video tour of the county’s infrastructure and transportation initiatives, this series of videos will highlight the various events, services, county departments, initiatives and activities relevant to the county’s transportation and infrastructure programs and initiatives. Utilizing the county’s popular government access station and social media accounts, DCTV is effectively cross promoting this critical information while offering a front row seat into the county’s operations as it pertains to transportation and infrastructure. By providing the public with detailed and structured information, it educates them in regards to the county’s day-to-day operations, how the government and it’s departments are improving processes, policies, and operations, and gives the public information they can use to get involved with their county government. DeKalb County residents and the general public are able to use this information to improve their quality of life through volunteering, learning critical information that can be used during an emergency, learning about new services in DeKalb County, and how the public can work with DeKalb County government to help make the positive changes they want to see in their county.
