The Montgomery County, Department of Correction and Rehabilitation has developed a powerful, real-time system for deploying Correctional Officers and for managing Officer overtime designed to reduce costs to taxpayers, improve management data, reduce overtime use, and provide strong and current information on staffing adequacy and causes of overtime by jail, shift and employee. The Custody & Security Staff Deployment System was developed in-house by the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation to assist with the efficient management and deployment of custody and security staff at both the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the Montgomery County Detention Center. The system provides the jail shift commanders the ability to track the availability of the custody and security staff to cover the required three shifts a day, 21 shifts a week, 365 days a year with the minimum amount of overtime pay.
