Category: Libraries (Best in Category)

Year: 2021

At the San Bernardino County Library, we have always prided ourselves in the quality of our programs and events. As our program attendance statistics continued to grow year over year, some of our large events would see thousands of participants at our larger libraries, some of whom would travel from other communities just to participate. With the unavoidable closures and limitations that came with the COVID-19 pandemic, we found ourselves with two choices; we could stop offering programs while we were unable to gather people in our libraries, or we could reimagine our programs and events and convert them into virtual and grab-and-go type of kits so we could continue to provide programming to customers. The choice was clear and with a mission to continue offering programs, a plan was created to offer training, equipment and support to our branches to successfully implement a new type of programming for our libraries.
