The County Executive’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) and the County Council’s cable TV unit have collaborated to produce an interactive television show to educate consumers. This bi-monthly show is a new service to County residents and is designed to enhance the knowledge of residents regarding the services offered by Montgomery County government. Facing limited resources, this cable television show is designed to enhance OCP’s outreach and educational efforts in a cost effective manner. Each episode of the program focuses on several different consumer protection topics including auto maintenance and repair, refund and warranty policies, travel scams, and unlicensed home improvement contractors. Scripts are designed to address the topics for which OCP frequently receives inquiries.
