The community health paramedicine program is a collaboration between county government and a local healthcare provider. The goal of the program is to improve the health of the participants while reducing healthcare costs and the need for emergency services. All participants are victims of congestive heart failure that have required repeated emergency department visits and in patient hospitalizations. A requirement of the program is it must be self sustaining without tax dollars.
