Sometimes navigating the complexities of local government can be difficult, and it only gets more difficult when you are in need of real help. Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights collaborated and created Community Care Mobile Application to serve the needs of the families and youth in the communities to make it easier to search the wide range of helpful services that local government provides. When users download this free app, they can easily browse by category or search for something in particular to view a description of a department and how they can help, links to where to find them, and contact information. Whether it's help with parenting, disabilities, transportation, substance abuse, or just finding a great park, Community Care Mobile App provides help that connect users with the right people to get the assistance they are looking for. This project was funded through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) as one of five community mini-grants for “Bringing Systems of Care to Scale in Virginia.” The mini-grant projects are part of a larger state System of Care Expansion Implementation Grant awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to the DBHDS.
