Year: 2018

San Bernardino County Children and Family Services (CFS) established a collaborative initiative with Faith in Motion partners and faith-based organizations in 2017 to recruit, train and support potential foster families in remote and hard to recruit areas. This objective is being achieved by: • Bridging gaps among foster youth, their families and communities. • Providing service opportunities for faith-based organizations. • Developing community support systems for reunifying families. The initiative promotes collaboration between San Bernardino County CFS and the faith-based community to increase the recruitment of new foster families in areas where placement needs exceed current placement capacity. CFS and Faith in Motion partners develop and participate in recruitment events in the City of San Bernardino as well as in remote areas such as Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms, Barstow, Needles and surrounding areas as a way to engage and meet the needs of the children served in the broader areas of San Bernardino County.
