The Department of Public Works does service work for cities such as emergency road work, bridge repair, and catch basin cleanout. Work orders for the contract cities used to be tracked through countless phone calls and emails. They came a long way by developing an online system, the City Services Request Tracking System. It replaced the antiquated paperwork tracking method, and greatly improved services to cities and provides a simple method for the 88 cities within the County of Los Angeles to submit a Request for Service with the Department of Public Works through an online and secure connection. The tracking system provides an easy-to-use method for cities to make their requests, track them, and conveniently exchange details of their needs. It is a fast and secure way to process and verify service requests.
