In June 2008, the Department of General Services responded to comments from County businesses that the vendor registration process in the County was very fragmented, requiring companies to register separately with each of the six independent County agencies comprising the Interagency Procurement Coordinating Committee. This was an undue burden to the business community and underscored a lack of information sharing among agencies. The process needed to be reinvented to operate as a centralized vendor registration process. In keeping with the reform initiative of the DGS Office of Procurement acting as the lead agency to develop a support company information for all businesses interested in receiving announcements of Invitations to Bid, Requests for Proposals, Requests for Expressions of Interest, and any other competitive opportunity to provide goods and services to County agencies comprising the IPCC.
