Located in Boulder County’s Department of Housing and Human Services, the Central Hub is a grant-funded resource, training, and support organization for Connect for Health Colorado, serving Assistance Site organizations, Health Coverage Guides, and community partners in the eight counties of the Metro Denver/Central Front Range region. The Central Hub’s aim is to assist Health Coverage Guides and community partners in ensuring that Coloradans have access to health coverage. This goal was achieved by building upon existing community assets at a grassroots level, creating, strengthening, and extending community networks, identifying hard-to-reach populations and strategizing ways to increase enrollment. The Central Hub serves as a conduit of knowledge and communication throughout a larger regional and statewide network. This project has successfully created and delivered training, communication, outreach and enrollment support to a diverse and engaged network of key stakeholders for nearly two years. Over this time, successes of the project include creating and maintaining community-based outreach coalitions, which resulted in the creation of comprehensive outreach toolkits and the facilitation of statewide outreach and enrollment events. Since November 2013, the Central Hub region has had more than 174,000 individuals enroll in private health insurance coverage through Connect for Health Colorado, many through the direct support of Health Coverage Guides and community partners.
