A need to improve maintenance efficiency for approximately 400 Juvenile Detainees was addressed through the Building Team Initiative. The prior maintenance system was too time constraining and ineffective, leading to hazardous safety conditions. The Building Team Initiative Program was designed to provide a continual maintenance sweep of twenty-nine housing unit/pods. This new maintenance system is much more efficient and has resulted in more work orders being completed in a timely fashion, saving the Detention Center money and resources.
