Bike Riders is a program for people of all ages, with a disability, offered by the Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusive Services Section of Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department (MCPRD). This program was developed to provide a 1:1 experience for participants to learn to ride a bike. Participants work on skill development including balancing a bike, pushing off, gliding, and pedaling. Bike Riders is a new program for MCPRD Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusive Services Section that was designed to target participants needing the additional 1:1 support and has become very successful.
