The Oakland County Clerk Bi-Annual Local Clerk Tour was instituted by Clerk Bill Bullard in his first day after being appointed Oakland County Clerk by the Circuit Court on 1-1-11. The purpose of the tour is to interact with every local clerk in the county at least every other year by visiting the City, Township or Village clerk’s office, meeting with the clerk and staff, and hearing the needs and concerns of those on the frontlines of election and record services. Oakland County is Michigan’s second most populous, with 61 local municipal clerks, many of which are more than a half hour’s travel time from the County seat. Many clerks in Oakland County had never had a visit from the County Clerk, nor had their staff had a chance to interact. With the Biannual Local Government Tour, municipal clerks and staff are getting their concerns heard by the County seat and the County has praised the work efforts of the County Clerk.
