Baltimore County, Maryland is a large metropolitan jurisdiction in the midst of significant transformation, both from a pending influx of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) jobs at nearby military bases, and from a multi-year strategic initiative to bring Renaissance to the County’s older communities and historic business districts. This unprecedented multi-year renewal initiative is bringing lasting positive change to Baltimore County’s communities. The County is also recognized as unusually effective in performing a number of different government functions. In order to enhance the level of citizen understanding of these important advancements, the Office of Communications produced an innovative, citizen-oriented five-year report. “Baltimore County Works” presents the tangible brick and mortar infrastructure projects and technology upgrades that are improving communities, along with an overview of public safety, social, and educational initiatives that enhance prosperity and quality of life. The report was completely research and compiled by county staff.
