The Denver Elections Division, in conjunction with the Denver based software development company i3 Logix, created a mail ballot tracking, reporting, and communication engine called Ballot TRACE. Ballot TRACE⢠was designed to offer Denver voters a way to track their mail ballot from delivery to acceptance for counting. Denver voters are able to login to the Ballot TRACE⢠site and either sign up for email or text notifications regarding the status of their ballot, or view messages online. The Ballot TRACE⢠system uses intelligent mail barcode technology printed on the envelope in combination with messaging technology to alert the voter once their ballot has been printed, mailed, and is with their courier for delivery. Once the voter votes the ballot, the system then tracks their ballot either back through the mail stream or, if the ballot was placed in a ballot box, through the Denver Elections Division ballot process.
