The Charlotte County Community Services Recreation Division created a backpack giveaway event to provide backpacks and school supplies for 500 school age children in our community. In addition to providing backpacks, this event traditionally provides services such as vision and hearing screening, and bicycle safety and helmet distribution. The event was modified for 2020 due to the increased safety concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Operations were streamlined and changed to a drive-through format for the safety of participants and staff.
