About the Program

Category: Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation (Best in Category)

Year: 2013

The Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Program made use of a restored barn, the DeLonde Barn, as a way to give artists a chance to pursue their work for a week in the inspiring landscape and history of Caribou Ranch Open Space in Boulder County. By then allowing these artists to share their art with the community, we hope to add to residents’ enjoyment of their open space lands, create a legacy of art preserved for future generations and build upon our stewardship base to include this important user group from our Boulder County community.Boulder County’s AiR Program gives county residents a tangible connection to today's artists – not only musicians but painters, illustrators, photographers, visual/film artists, sculptors, performers, poets, writers, composers and crafts/artisans too. The program also gives artists an opportunity to experience open space in a setting tailored to the artist’s needs.
