The Loss Angeles County Community and Senior Services (CSS) Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is responsible for providing a number of vital services to Los Angeles County residents 60 years and older. The AAA’s Social Assistance Management System (SAMS) is a comprehensive integrated case management system that enables agencies to share and manage all consumers in a single, secure database. SAMS Case Management supports the full service delivery life cycle, from initial inquiry or referral to assessment, service delivery, and reporting. The system provides care managers with the tools they need to efficiently serve consumers, no matter the type of care that they are receiving. SAMS includes a wealth of features designed specifically for organizations to plan, track, manage, and pay for services delivered to their consumers. Performance outcomes and contractor accountability has improved with the implementation of SAMS. It has also proved to be an excellent management tool. In fact, the system that has enabled AAA managers can recover and reprogram monies formerly spent on ineligible clients as well as better plan the service needs of the senior population in Los Angeles County.
