About Ryan Nalty
Ryan joined Adams County in January 2020 as the Deputy Director of Community and Economic Development. Within this role, he helps to steer the economic vitality strategy for the County, as well as helping lead COVID-19 economic recovery efforts. He also directly oversees the county’s permitting, building safety and inspection teams, and helps to integrate overall building, planning, housing and environmental programs to fulfill the county’s vision. Ryan also supports strategic commercial development in and around the Colorado Air and Space Port, which is owned and operated by Adams County.
Prior to joining Adams County, Ryan previously worked Director of Strategic Partnerships for the World Trade Center Denver and as a strategic and policy Consultant to CDOT, having helped the state with transportation planning, specifically around freight.
Prior to moving to Colorado, he worked as a diplomat for the British Government at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. Here he served for 7 years in both economic development and policy advising roles under three UK Ambassadors. During his time there, Ryan lead the Aerospace portfolio and helped the U.K. with its first-ever National Commercial Space Strategy and associated policy development; including leading the U.K.’s national efforts to start a series of spaceports, as well as attract commercial users.
Ryan holds a joint Master’s Degree from Imperial College London and University College London in Transportation Policy and Business Management; and undergraduate degrees from the University of Montana.
Although originally from Montana, he and his wife, Ashley, are proud to call Colorado and the Denver metro region home.
