Project Coordinator, Memorial Regional Health’s Rural Response to the Opioid Epidemic Grant
About Nicole Shatz
Nicole Shatz currently acts as the Project Coordinator for Memorial Regional Health’s Rural Response to the Opioid Epidemic (RROE) Grant. Memorial Regional Health’s RROE grant has formed a five county regional consortium of community agencies spanning Northwest Colorado. The common goal of the regional consortium is to decrease opioid overdoses and overdose related deaths for individuals involved in the criminal justice system and/or those who come into contact with law enforcement. This common goal is achieved by implementing and/or strengthening prevention, intervention, and recovery strategies and initiatives.
Ms. Shatz obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to her role as the Project Coordinator for the RROE grant, Ms. Shatz acted as a Patient Care Planner and Care Coordinator in hospital, medical clinic, and home health/hospice settings. Additionally, Ms. Shatz has over twelve years of experience in the child welfare and adult protection systems acting as a Deputy Director, Child Welfare/Adult Protection Supervisor, and Child Welfare/Adult Protection caseworker.
