About Mike Ablowich
Mike has worked in public financial management for nearly 30 years as a State Treasurer, State Budget Director, and technical advisor to numerous national treasuries in developing and transition countries. For the last 15 years he has worked abroad with a variety of countries on strengthening public financial management, transparency and treasury operations at the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance.
Prior, Mike served as the Treasurer of the State of New Hampshire, a constitutional officer of the state. In this role he was responsible for the cash, debt and investment operations of the State of New Hampshire. His background also includes serving as the Budget Director for the State of New Hampshire as well as working in various roles within the Treasury of the State of New Hampshire early in his career.
Mike earned a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelors’ Degree in International Relations from Boston University. In 2005 he was awarded the “Tanya Gritz Award for Excellence” in Debt Management by the State Debt Management Network and in 2006, the “Jesse Unruh Award”, which honors a State Treasurer currently holding office in recognition of outstanding service, awarded by the National Association of State Treasurers. He also served as an infantry officer on active duty in the United States Army.
