About Mary Elizabeth Fleming
Mary Elizabeth S. Fleming is a Parenting Education Programs facilitator with Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Program. The Parenting Education Program addresses parenting education needs of families with children from birth to eighteen years of age. In addition to supporting parents, Mary Elizabeth facilitates classes, support groups and trainings specifically tailored to kinship caregivers. She previously served as the Support Group and Training Coordinator for the Kinship Family Institute at Fairfax County Department of Family Services. As a trained ARC Reflections facilitator, she offers trauma-informed training for kin and other caregivers who are working with children and teens who have experienced trauma. ARC stands for Attachment, Regulation and Competency. The curriculum is designed to provide caregivers with the tools, knowledge and skills to foster resilience in children, teens and families. Mary Elizabeth worked in client services in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, with experience in mediation and conflict coaching.
