About Marian Marquez
Marian Marquez is Director of Business Investment for Arlington Economic Development (AED). In this role she oversees Arlington’s efforts in business recruitment and retention, international trade, entrepreneur support and catalyzing the innovation economy. Among other achievements, Ms. Marquez contributed heavily to the successful recruitment of Amazon’s HQ2 to Arlington and standing up the County’s international and business retention strategies.
Prior to joining AED, Ms. Marquez held roles in the private and public sectors including several years with Exxon Mobil Corporation as well as federal government (U.S. Trade & Development Agency). Her love of all things international stems from a childhood spent as a diplomatic brat in Hungary, Germany, Mexico and Austria. As a native Arlingtonian, however, Ms. Marquez is thrilled to be “home” and working to make Arlington an even better place to live and work.
Ms. Marquez holds a B.A. in Russian Studies from Stanford University and a master’s degree in International Business from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
