About Kierra Clemmons

Kiera Clemmons, Assigned Social Worker with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville NC. Ms. Clemmons obtained her Baccalaureate and Master’s Degree in the School of Social Work from East Carolina University. Currently 2 years post-graduate. Ms. Clemmons is registered as a Licensed Clinical Social worker. Ms. Clemmons actively works to provide brief interventions for all individuals assigned to specialized programs as well as the general population housed in the Pitt County Detention Center. Ms. Clemmons provides intervention and planning through evidence-based models and Cognitive Behavior Treatment. Ms. Clemmons received her certificate for honorary clinical instructor and oversees Social Work interns at the facility. In conjunction with many new jail-based programs that include substance use treatment, mental health, and psychoeducation Ms. Clemmons is able to assist in providing a wholistic perspective to treatment with Pitt County detention center. Ms. Clemmons is also registered as a Licensed addiction specialist. Working with community partners and stake holders to address the substance use disorders of detainees while they are currently held within the detention center. Substance use and Co-occurring disorders are addressed by providing diagnostic assessments to individuals who are eligible to participate in the Medically Assisted Treatment program offered at the facility.
