About James Coldren
James "Chip" Coldren is a justice research expert with over 35 years of research experience in justice system effectiveness, police evaluation, crime prevention, corrections, juvenile justice and restorative justice. Coldren has worked alongside the U.S. Department of Justice and many police departments across the country to study community policing, improve police-community relationships, implement body-worn camera policies and evaluate policing effectiveness. He has assisted police departments in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Spokane and several other cities.
Coldren is a former Criminal Justice professor at Governors State University. He has both a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Sociology from Rutgers University.
