James Barna

James Barna currently serves as the Executive Director of DriveOhio. Most recently, he worked at the Ohio Department of Transportation as the Assistant Director of Transportation Policy, which encompasses the Divisions of Planning, Engineering, and Construction. He directed all aspects, from "cradle to grave," of ODOT's $2.0 billion dollar capital program. He also served as the department's Chief Engineer. Mr. Barna returned to ODOT after six years with the private sector, where he served as the Columbus office manager and Director of Transportation for a regional engineering firm. He was responsible for directing the marketing, budget and engineering facets of transportation for the organization. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1990 from The Ohio State University.
