Commissioner, Morgan County, Colo.
Morgan County (28,275) is a snapshot of immigration in rural-agricultural Colorado. Commissioner Jim Zwetzig’s grandparents were immigrants from the relocated German, Russian-born, farm laborers of the Volgograd area. In Morgan County, these immigrants were followed by the Mexican-born migrant workers. The City of Fort Morgan now has the second most diverse city population in Colorado, including relocated eastern African refugees.
