About Harriet Rennie-Brown

Ms. Rennie-Brown is the Executive Director of the National Association of State 911 Administrators. Her career in public safety spans three decades, starting as a dispatcher in a one-seat comm room in rural Northern Michigan. She has experienced 911 from the local, state, and national levels. Her work has included implementing CAD, radio, and mobile data systems, as well as facility construction and operational transitions at the county 911 level.  She served 15 years in 911 policy development, system planning, and program oversight as the State 911 Administrator for Michigan. Her current focus as the Director of NASNA is to connect states to the resources and information they need to develop successful statewide 911 programs throughout the country. During her tenure as a local 911 director, Ms. Rennie-Brown was a founding officer the Michigan Communications Directors Association. While serving as Michigan’s State 911 Administrator she was the recipient of the Michigan Government Technology and the Michigan State Police’ Professional Excellence awards. She is the immediate past president of the National Association of State 911 Administrators (NASNA).
