About Dr. Toyosi Okurounmu, MD, MPH, MBA
Dr. Toyosi Okurounmu serves as the Chief Medical Officer, Employer and Individual Line of Business at United Healthcare for Georgia and Alabama. She completed her Preventive Medicine training at the Emory University School of Medicine where she previously also worked as an Assistant Professor for Family and Preventive Medicine. Her medical degree is from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and she trained in Family Medicine at the Indiana University Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis after completing her Masters of Public Health and Business Administration at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland.
Currently, Dr. Okurounmu’s work is focused on keeping healthcare affordable for the working population of Georgia and Alabama. Supporting employers with the right tools and services to keep their employees healthy and minimizing the impact of disease on productivity. Her career has also included primary care for the whole family, global health HIV clinical care and support services, advanced illness (palliative care and hospice) strategy, health system transformation and value-based care.
Dr. Okurounmu loves to spend time with family and enjoys the arts, volunteering, discovering culture and traveling.
