Dave Simprini

Dave is a partner at Guidehouse overseeing cybersecurity risk solutions and strategy within the Technology Advisory practice. He leverages his information security audit and assurance background to provide a compliance and governance lens to his clients' complex technical challenges. His areas of focus include cyber maturity analysis, integrated security and privacy risk management, cyber analytics, information assurance, and remediation road mapping. He has deep knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) catalog of frameworks and their application within the cybersecurity lifecycle. He has designed and deployed analytics and visualization tools that help organizations target the most critical issues and drive investment decisions with budget, timeline, and scale at the forefront.

Dave brings over 17 years of management consulting experience across a broad spectrum of government sectors including Defense, Civilian, State & Local, and Healthcare specialties. He has also assisted clients in the aerospace and defense, medical technology, and communications industries to align their cybersecurity policies and practices with the NIST standards. Dave participates in numerous working groups and task forces that help shape Federal cyber policies and control frameworks including the NIST Privacy Framework, Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0, and the Cybersecurity Controls Audit Manual.

Prior to his career in cyber management consulting, Dave served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy's Nuclear Power Propulsion program. He has a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Engineering Management from the Catholic University of America.
