About Chris Mitton
Chris leads the development and execution of the company's business development strategy, utilizing years of experience in government service, drone startups, and trade associations. Previous to joining AirSpaceLink, Chris served as government relations and public policy lead for the West at the National Marine Manufacturers Association, where he spearheaded the Association's efforts to expand access to recreational boating, develop programs for next-generation technology and boating safety initiatives in the western U.S. Chris has also served as Business Development Director for Fortem Technologies where he led the company's commercial partnership strategy and lead company’s efforts in early FAA and NASA drone integration programs. He has also served as a senior government affairs officer at the U.S. Department of Transportation where he was the primary policy advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs. During that time, Chris supported state and local government navigating US DOT grant programs, worked with various agencies to develop policies related to emerging technologies, and was appointed the Designated Federal Official and lead negotiator for USDOT for a congressionally mandated negotiated rulemaking with 562 Indian Tribes. In his spare time, you can find Chris at a hockey rink, on the golf course, or in the mountains. The Colorado native lives in Denver with his wife and their dog, Lucy.
