On September 26, the White House issued an executive order (EO) that gives states and localities increased decision making authority over federal refugee resettlement. Since the EO was issued, the administration released guidance that requires states and localities to provide written consent to refugee resettlement agencies by January 21, 2020. In response to the guidance, county leaders may want to familiarize themselves with this new consent process and other requirements instituted under the EO. Join us for a webinar with federal officials and national experts explaining the EO’s changes to the requirements for refugee resettlement and how counties can prepare for their new role in the process.
