The National Association of Counties (NACo), the National League of Cities (NLC) and members of the U.S. House of Representatives from both parties announce the formation of the Congressional Caucus of Former Local Elected Officials. This is a new and historic commitment to the leaders and residents of America’s cities and counties to ensure that local priorities are heard in Washington.
This bipartisan caucus, formed in coordination with NACo and NLC, brings together members of Congress with prior service in local government to improve our nation’s intergovernmental partnership, provide up-to-date information about mutual policy interests to members of Congress and their staffs, and ensure that the local government voice is heard in federal decision-making.
