NACo Calls on Congress to Oppose Additional Cuts to Key Rural Programs

On Wednesday, February 9, the National Association of Counties joined a coalition of over 250 organizations calling on Congress to oppose any additional cuts to key programs within the jurisdiction of the Senate and House Agriculture Committees during budget and appropriation negotiations. In a letter addressed to Budget and Appropriations Committee Leadership, the coalition highlighted the bipartisan $16 billion deficit reduction attributed to The Agricultural Act of 2014 reminding members that many of the reforms made in the farm bill are still being implemented.
