Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI)
The Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI) measures and maps the social vulnerability of coastal counties in regard to environmental hazards. Users are able to assess differences in preparation, response, and recovery times in various geographic locations, as well as in areas where natural resources could reduce vulnerability.
Community Rating System Green Guide
The Community Rating System (CRS) Green Guide is an online resource designed to help communities identify which nature-based elements from the CRS Coordinator's Manual they want to pursue. It includes best practices and success stories from CRS communities earning top credits.

NOAA’s Sea Level Rise Viewer visualizes potential community-level impacts from coastal flooding or sea level rise (up to 10 feet above average high tides) through maps and photos.

CHARM Model
CHARM is a user‐friendly mapping tool that gives local officials, stakeholders and citizens the power to map and analyze growth with real-time feedback. When used in a participatory mapping workshop, it forms a powerful planning tool for engaging the public and gathering their values about the community’s future.
Coastal Resilience Index
The Coastal Resilience Index (CRI) is a self-assessment method that community leaders can use to predict their community’s ability to function after a disaster. Using the CRI provides communities the opportunity to address problems before the next disaster and to determine where resources should be allocated.
