The County Role in Shaping America's Future Workforce

This workshop will explore the role of the chief local elected official in implementing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WOIA). WIOA is designed to assist job seekers access employment, education, training and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. The session will include county best practices and examples that highlight the differences in local workforce areas such as urban versus rural, and single county versus multi-county areas.
